Dr Chrysanthi Taxiarchi is a molecular biologist and genetic engineer, focusing her research on genetic technologies for the contol of malaria transmitting mosquitoes.
She received her PhD degree in mosquito transcriptomics and genetic egnineering from University of Perugia in convention with Imperial College London in 2018.
After years of experience as a Research Associate in the Crisanti Lab at Imperial College London, she was appointed the position of Senior Researcher and PI of a BMGF funded project at PoloGGB, Italty.
Since July 2024 she is based in PoloGGB, Italy researching for methods to limit the activity of gene drives in Anopheles mosquitoes, but maintains research and teaching interests at Imperial College as an Honorary Associate.
