I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London.

I study the fluxes of metals and volatiles through the Earth’s crust and mantle, with a particular focus on magmatic and hydrothermal processes involved in the formation of mineral deposits. I integrate tools from geochemistry, geochronology, machine learning, and geochemical/thermodynamic modelling to better understand ore-forming systems and develop methods applicable to mineral exploration.

Specifc areas of current interest include:

• Magmatic processes forming porphyry copper deposits
• Cycling of metals and volatiles in subduction zones
• Genesis of base metal deposits in sedimentary basins
• Applications of data science and machine learning to extract more information from geochemical and textural data
• Modelling of magmatic and hydrothermal processes
