BIO
Carl Paterson studied Physics as an undergraduate at Oxford University before coming to Imperial College to study for his PhD in Optics. He became a Royal Society University Research Fellow in 2001 and Reader in Physics in 2008. He started his research career working on diffractive optics and optical vortices before moving into adaptive optics, optical propagation through scattering and turbulent media and optical imaging. Current research interests also include endoscopy and Brillouin microscopy with particular emphasis on ocular imaging.
