BIO
Chuanzi holds a BSc, MSc, MRes, and PhD in Economics from the University of Bristol, specialising in empirical industrial organisation and health economics. He currently works with Professor Marisa Miraldo and Professor James Barlow at the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation (CHEPI) and the Centre for Sectorial Economic Performance (CSEP).
His research lies at the intersection of industrial organisation, innovation, and health economics, with a particular focus on pricing, demand, firm strategy, and technological change in healthcare markets. His current research agenda centres on three interconnected areas: (1) how buyer power and demand concentration affect firms’ strategic investment decisions, pricing, innovation, and consumer welfare; (2) how innovation policies shape the direction, composition, and evolution of pharmaceutical innovation; and (3) how new technologies affect firm capabilities, competitive dynamics, and market structure.
