DrCora O'Reilly

Dr. Cora O’Reilly is Director of Operations in the Department of Computing. she has extensive experience in higher education management, process improvement, and research and teaching administration. In her current role, she provides strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that structures, systems, and services are aligned with institutional priorities in teaching, research, and administration.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. O’Reilly spent two years as a Process Outcome Designer within Imperial College London’s Great Services Programme. There she was responsible for developing administrative processes for the new Oracle Fusion system, modernising HR, Finance, and Research Administration functions across the institution, ensuring proposals are in line with the needs of Academic departments.

She previously served for over nine years as Department Operations Manager in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London, overseeing departmental operations, supporting academic strategy, and ensuring the effective management of physical and administrative resources. Earlier, as Strategic Research Coordinator for the Faculty of Engineering, she coordinated the preparations for REF 2014 and supported researchers in securing external funding.

Dr. O’Reilly also held research portfolio management roles at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and began her career as a Process Engineer at Intel Ireland. She holds a PhD in Physics and a first-class BA in Natural Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin.
