MsCarmen Oleksinski

Carmen Oleksinski is a Research Associate in the Transport Strategy Centre (TSC) at Imperial College London. At the TSC, Carmen has worked on benchmarking of transit systems around the world, particularly in the areas of Key Performance Indicators, station design, passenger safety, resource management, and customer satisfaction.

Previously, Carmen worked in the Strategic Initiatives group at MTA New York City Transit where she specialised in policy development, data analysis, and innovative projects that crossed departmental borders. Projects that she managed or supported addressed station operations, labour resource management, fare policy, and implementation of new technology across both the subway and bus systems.

Her work at MTA was preceded by earlier positions in California and the UK. Carmen worked as a transport consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area on projects involving transport planning, feasibility studies, strategic planning, environmental review, and transport modelling. At Transport for London, she contributed to the development of a long‐term strategic plan for improving traffic operations in the capital.

Carmen has a Master of Science in Engineering and a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. During her studies, she was awarded a Dwight D. Eisenhower Fellowship from the US Department of Transportation as recognition of merit and future contribution to the transport industry.
