BIO
As a Clinical Trial Statistician, Consuelo provides statistical support and assistance in the implementation, running, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination of results for clinical trials and related research studies. Her role in the ICTU also involves collaborating with and helping others, including verifying the primary analysis results of other trials.
She has worked on a range of clinical trials, including device trials and cancer therapies. Consuelo has prepared DMEC Reports, TSC Reports, Interim Reports, Final Analyses, Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), Data Sharing Packs, study specific procedures and Sample Size Calculations. She has also overseen the development of Protocol Development and Data Management Plans and has contributed to the development of the Inform Database. Finally, she contributes with the development of producing more friendly data extracts from the new database system (OpenClinica) into STATA.
Consuelo completed a BSc in Actuarial Sciences at the Universidad National Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and has an MSc in Statistics from London School of Economics and Political Science and an MSc in Statistics with Applications in Medicine from the University of Southampton. She started working for Imperial College in the clinical trials unit (ICTU) in October of 2018 after taking a five-year break to spend time with her kids. This is her first role as a clinical trial statistician. Previously she worked as a Statistician in the market research sector both here in the UK as well as in Mexico.
