RESEARCH
My Research Group webpage can be found at: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/emerging-structural-technologies/
I lead an active research group called Emerging Structural Technologies. We explore areas such as earthquake engineering, structural mechanics, applied dynamics, and design.
Using advanced numerical and experimental techniques, as well as innovative tools, we tackle a range of engineering challenges. A particular focus of our research is addressing problems in demanding environments, including earthquake-prone regions and extraterrestrial settings. This includes designing and implementing passive, semi-active, and other protective strategies, where we’ve made meaningful contributions.
A full list of publications can be found in the tab above or on Scopus. Our research has been recognized with awards such as the Tso Kung Hsieh Research Award from the ICE and the Structures Best Research Paper Prize from the IStructE. Many students working with us have received awards and recognition for their innovative research projects.
NOTE TO APPLICANTS:
I’m always excited to hear from outstanding candidates interested in joining my research team. I receive several unsolicited applications from talented prospective PhD students and postdocs each day, and I truly appreciate your enthusiasm for my work. However, due to the volume of emails I receive, I’m not always able to reply to everyone individually. Please don’t be discouraged if you don’t hear back from me—I value your interest and wish you the best in your academic and research journey.
