TEACHING INTERESTS

I have taught at postgraduate level at Imperial since 2019. For the National Heart and Lung Institute's core skills programme I initially served as a teaching assistant before designing and delivering the literature review and critical appraisal modules independently, including asynchronous video content. I continue to deliver critical appraisal on the MSc in Cardiovascular and Lung Health, and contribute an introductory session on HIV vaccinology to BSc Natural Sciences.

I have supervised five students on HIVQuant-related projects at bachelor's, master's and doctoral level between 2018 and 2026, three of whom have first-authored peer-reviewed publications arising from that work. One completed a BSc project with Distinction and is now a PhD student and a named collaborator on my current research; one achieved a Distinction in MSc Molecular Medicine and presented at a Wellcome Connecting Science conference; one, whom I supervised as third supervisor, has since been awarded her PhD. Most recently I was second supervisor to a Faculty of Natural Sciences MSc student working on HIV-1 integration-site profiling.

Beyond Imperial I deliver grant-writing training for early-career researchers at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania and continue that mentoring relationship.
