BIO
Connie is a doctor and Public Health researcher focused on co-producing system-level solutions to health inequity. Her work bridges applied health research, systems thinking, and participatory methods to understand and strengthen community resilience, particularly in underserved populations.
She leads mixed-methods evaluations of locally embedded models like Community Health and Wellbeing Workers (CHWWs), and collaborates with partners in the UK and Brazil to translate global learning into UK system change.
Her interest lies in developing integrated tools for planning, trust-building and investment in relational care, working closely with NIHR ARC, NAPC, ICS partners and community researchers. Her ambition is to lead national work on participatory system design that embeds equity, evidence, and lived experience at its core.
She currently combines academic work as part time Senior Clinical Fellow in Primary Care on the Innovation and Evaluation theme of the NIHR North West London Applied Research Collaboration within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health at Imperial College London with clinical work as a GP in Westminster, and as Epidemiologist at Westminster City Council. She is the clinical lead for the Community Health and Wellbeing Workers for Healthcare Central London, implementing this new and proactive outreach model inspired by the Family Health Strategy in Brazil in local communities in areas of highest need.
Prior to joining Imperial College in 2016 as an Academic Clinical Fellow and GP trainee, she trained in post graduate Medicine at Kings College London. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Faculty of Medicine at Bristol University.
She is passionate about community led preventative Primary Care, planetary health and translational research.
