RESEARCH
In addition to electrochemical testing, Carlos has experience in deploying custom laser diagnostic techniques. His previous postdoctoral research includes building a custom Raman spectroscopy apparatus to investigate the formation of tribofilms from oil additive MoDTC.

He also applied multiple laser diagnostic techniques and electron microscopy during his PhD work, to investigate the formation of soot particles during combustion and silica nanoparticles in reactive flows, for which he was awarded the Weinberg prize by the UK Institute of Physics.
