DrClemens Brechtelsbauer

I am a chemical engineer with a background in industrial chemistry. I spent 13 years in primary pharmaceutical process development at SmithKline Beecham and GlaxoSmithKline before joining Imperial in 2010.

My work here focuses on the long‑term stewardship of chemical engineering education. This includes programme structure, curriculum alignment, and the practicalities of running a large and complex degree. I draw on industrial experience to keep teaching grounded in professional practice. I also support colleagues across the department on matters of governance, accreditation, and process design.

My aim is to maintain stable, coherent, and sustainable educational provision.
