Bethan is specialised in studing electrochemical reacitons for sustainable energy systems.
She obtained her PhD in 2019 from the University of Copenahgen on the electrocatalytic synthesis of valuable chemicals. She worked with electrochemical and analytic techniques, such as gas chromatography mass spectrometry and infrared spectroscopy.
In 2021 she joined Imperial in the group of Ifan Stephens to work on studying the degradation of lithium ion batteries. She has collaborated with Johnson Matthey to study commerial battery materials and is a part of the Faraday Institution Degradation project.
