BIO
I am a Research Fellow in the Plasma Physics group at Imperial College, and a member of the John Adams Institute for Accelerator Science. My research involves the development and application of compact laser-plasma particle accelerators, and the secondary sources they provide.
In particular, I use ultrashort pulse X-rays to investigate extreme conditions, such as high-energy-density physics or non-equilibirum states. For example, conditions similiar to large astrophysical bodies, or nuclear fusion plasmas. I also use high-energy electron beams to study strong field quantum electrodynamics effects, such as pair production, radiation reaction, and non-linear Compton scattering.
