RESEARCH

Applying the principles of fracture mechanics to engineering adhesive joints, multi-material systems and composite structures to better understand their response to varied loading and in-service conditions and to inform improved designs.

To address the needs of the research community and industry by developing international test standards for adhesive joints and fibre-composites to enable materials development and improved performance.

Bamber's research interests include:

Surface pre-treatment and adhesive bonding
Delamination of composite materials
High speed impact response and high speed photography
Structure-property relationships
Standardisation of fracture test methods
