Anna Maria Mandalari is Associate Professor in the Dept. Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College London, where she is the Director of the SafeNetIoT laboratory and she also serves as the Director of the MSc Programme in Internet Engineering and Telecommunications. She is Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London and visiting Professor at the Yokohama National University. She has been elected Secretary of ETSI TC CYBER EUSR to help coordinate standardization efforts on cybersecurity and emerging technologies. She is Chair of the Internet of Things Working Group at RIPE. She is Executive Steering Board Member of the IoT Security Foundation. She has been nominated Member of the Italian Technical Secretariat of the Committee for strategies on the use of AI. She obtained her PhD within the framework of the METRICS project, which is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie action, intended for excellent researchers, affiliated with the Carlos III University of Madrid. Her research interests are Internet of Things (IoT), privacy, security, networking and Internet measurement techniques. She studies privacy implications and information exposure from IoT devices.
In addition to her research, Anna gives invited talks all around the world to promote research and create awareness on security and privacy standards. Most of her research experiences have also significantly contributed to several EU-funded research projects and have had a significant influence on media and policymaking.
Anna Maria Mandalari is also committed to promoting the interest of young women in STEM subjects. She is an active member of organizations that encourage diversity and aims to promote connections between women in the computer science and networking field.
NEWS
Our team went through Phase 2 of the InnovateUK CyberASAP programme. We got funds for developing a PoC ready to present at a Demo Day in February.
Our team has recently won one of the TOP 5 spots in the Telekom Challenge Development Stream, receiving a generous gift to develop a prototype for the blocking system, IoTrim.
Our Paper Information Exposure From Consumer IoT Devices: A Multidimensional, Network-Informed Measurement Approach won the community contribution award at IMC'19 because “the dataset was timely, has high potential for impact, and was challenging to obtain.” Check out our data and code here:
