BIO
Aneire Ehmar Khan is a Research Associate in Public Health and Engineering in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the School of Public Health, Imperial College London. Her work focuses on environmental and global health, with particular interest in the health impacts of environmental change in low- and middle-income countries.
Aneire completed her PhD at Imperial College London, where her research examined water salinity in coastal Bangladesh and its adverse impacts on maternal health. This pioneering work was funded by the Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment. She also holds an MSc in Modern Epidemiology from Imperial College London.
In recognition of her research on climate change and health in Bangladesh, Aneire received the HSBC Climate Change Champion Award in 2010.
She is currently based at the NIHR Global Health Research Centre for Non-Communicable Diseases and Environmental Change, where she supports partner institutions in Bangladesh in the development, implementation, and evaluation of multisectoral interventions addressing non-communicable diseases and environmental change in context-specific settings.
