Opportunities for prospective students

At Biocentis, I have, and continue to accept, students who wish to conduct industry plascements as part of their university training - and I would encourage you to reach out if interested.

To date, we have sponsored a number of research placement students (3-6 months) in our laboratories at PhD and Masters level - one of whom has now joined our team as a permanent staff member, and another is undertaking an industrial PhD within the Biocentis together with the University of Pavia.

Workshops

I have also contributed to, organized, and led a number of training workshops for students and post-doctoral researchers from Africa who are aiming to develop skills in genome engineering, including a recent workshop sponsored by Biocentis.

Outreach 

Since 2015, I have been involved in efforts to discuss genetics, the ethics of genome engineering, and gene drive technology to students and the general public. I've given talks at several schools in the UK and abroad, and in 2017 I helped develop teaching tools for the Danish School system that included a lecture and ethics debate that were broadcast live across schools in the country.
