Abbie is a Post-Doctoral researcher in the laboratory of Professor Aylin Hanyaloglu.
Research Interests:
Broadly my research interests focus on understanding the complexities of G protein-coupled receptors, specifically those within the reproductive system. This has been focussed on a few main areas.
1. Unpicking the requirement for luteinising hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone receptor oligomerisation for ovarian function. For this project I am developing a super-resolution microscopy technique (PD-PALM) to enable single-molecule imaging of receptors in tandem with their signalling partners in the murine ovary.
2. Understanding how prostaglandin receptor function changes during human labour following crosstalk with other GPCRs, namely the oxytocin receptor.
3. Investigating ligand bias as well as the integration between receptor trafficking and signalling for one of the prostaglandin receptors, EP2.
