BIO
I am a Reader in Landscape Dynamics at the Department of Earth Science and Engineering. My research lies at the interface between active tectonics, climate, erosion and sedimentation at the Earth's surface. I use a combination of field, observational, remote sensing and modelling approaches. I am passionate about (i) active faulting, geohazards and landscape evolution; (ii) the tectonic, climatic and lithological controls on sediment in river and submarine channel systems, and the implications this has for depositional stratigraphy on a variety of spatial scales; (iii) Quantitative palaeohydrology and landscape sensitivity to environmental change in the past, present and future.
