DrAlina Serban

Alina-Irina Serban, PhD (2024) is a Research Associate at Imperial College London focusing on the development of algorithms for monitoring behaviour in households with dementia as part of the UK DRI Care Research and Technology Centre. Furthermore, she is involved in the development of conversational agents to encourage psychosocial interactions with dementia patients. As part of her PhD she developed and applied rule-based algorithms and machine learning models to infer information about daily activities and changes in routine in households with dementia to guide clinical intervention. Her research interests are centered on designing human-centered systems that facilitate healthy aging.
