Job Summary:
Anna assists ECRI leadership in developing business strategy and works with a high degree of autonomy to effect its implementation. She plays a pivotal role in designing, providing, facilitating and evaluating the ECRI's programme of support and development for research staff, ensuring that all services are of the highest quality and relevance and continue to meet the diverse and changing needs of the University and its postdocs and fellows.
Anna designs and delivers professional skills and career development training courses and programmes for postdocs and fellows at all stages whatever their future career aspirations. She has overall responsibility for the Postdoc and Fellows Reps Network and runs the annual funds for research staff including the Dame Julia Higgins Postdoc Collaborative Fund, the Seeds for Success fund, and Wings for Ideas fund.
Background and Experience:
Anna has more than 23 years experience of working in Higher Education, 15 in the United Kingdom. She spent twelve years working in Japanese further and higher education, including a pioneering initiative preparing Japanese graduates for work in international organisations. Her PhD used communities of practice theory to research education and self-development in a classical Japanese martial art. Anna is passionate about researcher development and holds postgraduate qualifications in education, coaching, library and information science, and leadership and management. She has worked in a variety of academic related professional service roles in UK Higher Education. She enjoys exploring innovative technology and the ways in which it can enhance research and lifelong professional development.
