Research

Mr Sayasneh has always been active in medical research all through his career. He has an h-index score of 12 on Google score with 473 publication citation since 2009. The main thrust of his MD research, since August 2011, is related to 2 arms of the IOTA study. IOTA is an international collaboration designed to produce robust information on the characterisation and long term behaviour of ovarian masses. This has recruited over 5000 masses in over 30 countries as has informed national guidelines in many countries including the UK. He was the main coordinator of the IOTA4a study which was a prospective trial investigating the referral pattern of two mathematical models: RMI and LR2 (IOTA logistic regression model 1) (intervention arm). Ethics Committee from West London Committee approved the study in September 2012. REC number: 10/H0707/28. This study was registered with ISRCTN 20772153 (http://www.controlled- trials.com/ISRCTN20772153). Approximately 240 patients were recruited in this project and the primary analysis was presented in my final MD review and approved by the assessors' panel.

He was invited to join the faculty of the last 6 years advanced courses in gynaecological ultrasound run by ISUOG and RCOG. He chaired the gynaecological oncology sessions In Copenhagen, Rome, and Leuven ISUOG and IOTA conference between 2012 and 2017. He is an international speaker and expert in ovarian masses characterisation.

He is a regular peer reviewer for a few scientific journals, such as the BJOG, Journal of Gynaecological Surgery, Journal of Assisted Reproduction, the Current Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Published in cooperation with the Imperial College London) and others.

He is research member and a surgeon in the UK uterine transplant team lead by Mr Richard Smith.
