RESEARCH
Research Interests
Dr Ruiz-Teran's Research interest is focussed in the area of Bridge Engineering. She has almost thirty years of research and industrial experience and is responsible for the teaching and research activities in the field of Bridge Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She set up a research group on Bridge Engineering when she joined Imperial College London in 2010.
Her main areas of active research:
Under-deck and combined cable-stayed bridges
Dynamic response of road, railway bridges and footbridges under traffic loading
Response to the accidental breakage of stay cables
Precast and segmental bridges
Seismic response of bridges
Spatial arch bridges
Innovative bridge types
