DrAndreas Roussakis

Andreas A. Roussakis (MD, PhD, AFHEA, fCMgr) is Senior Clinical Project Manager / Senior Clinical Operations Lead at Imperial College London/Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Dr Roussakis has 15 years of experience in product development, in medicines and medical devices, including IVDs, software and AI. His experience stems from medical research and operational roles at Imperial College and in industry and the UK regulatory authority (MHRA). Dr Roussakis was trained in Neurology/Movement Disorders at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Periodically, Dr Roussakis has worked clinically for the NHS as a (locum) Consultant Neurologist. Moreover, Dr Roussakis has substantial teaching experience (undergraduate and postgraduate students) and a record of active participation in the MBBS Admission panels at Imperial. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE, UK), and a key member of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE, Greece) panels, as an external expert.

His portfolio includes studies in patients with neurological, cardiovascular disorders, cancer, and rare diseases as well as healthy volunteers. Over time, he has led the development of several clinical projects, both observational and interventional, from early-stage clinical research to late-phase trials. These studies have been funded by pioneering R&D investments of industry, governmental bodies, and charitable organisations. He has served product development across the full spectrum of clinical research operations, with demonstrated leadership to study conceptualisation, innovative protocol design and project oversight, combined with effective risk management guided by to strict KPI metrics and strategic business goals.

In his current role, Dr Roussakis supports the National Heart & Lung Insitute (UK). He has a leading role in strategic planning and day-to-day management of governance affairs. He is responsible for the regulatory, operational, and financial aspects of clinical research with a major focus on EME Programme (NIHR & MRC)-funded research.
