BIO
I'm a final year PhD student in the School of Public Health, starting after completing my MMath in Mathematics at Durham University in 2021.
My research is based on Bayesian methods for Environment and Health Research, specifically looking at the long-term health effects of air pollution exposure on mental health outcomes. The majority of my work so far has been towards modern Bayesian spatiotemporal models for modeling and predicting monthly air pollution concentrations across Greater London for 2010-2019, using a fusion model within the INLA-SPDE model framework.
The other half of my project is looking at Bayesian models to quantify the relationship between air pollution exposure and mental health outcomes in a cohort of adolescents in Greater London. I will additionally look at the relationship to proximity to greenspaces, considering it as a potential confounder or effect-modifier of the air pollution effects on mental health. Finally, I will explore approaches to propagate the model uncertainty of the air pollution model through to the health model.
