BIO
I joined the Centre for Health Policy at the Institute of Global Health Innovation in November 2018 as a Research Associate in Health Economics. I graduated in Economics with a BSc in Economics (UAM), MSc in Economics (UCM), MSc in Health Economics (York), and a PhD in Economics (Lancaster).
My research interests relate to topics in applied health economics, policy evaluation and the measurement of treatment effects and causal inference using complex data. This includes the use of main microeconometric methods for the evaluation of health systems, the measurement of quality of care using financial and non-financial incentive schemes, the design and effects of performance incentives in health care, the labour supply of doctors, network analysis, integrated care and other applied work with a policy evaluation focus using quasi-experimental, observational and longitudinal data.
My current work looks at measuring the effect of prescribed specialist services on quality. Other work in progress related to Quality of Outcomes Framework (QoF) and patient safety.
Work in progress
Incentives in Specialised Services in England.
The labour supply of UK doctors.
Socioeconomic inequalities in the safety of patients with cardiovascular diseases in England.
