BIO
Amran is a Postgraduate Research student in the Tribology Group at Imperial College London, where she started in 2019, under the supervision of Dr Janet Wong.
Her PhD research focuses on modelling the effect of polymeric architecture and structure on the effectiveness and performance of viscosity modifiers (VMs). This involves using coarse-grain simulation methods, i.e. Dissapative Particle Dynamics (DPD), to model the lubricants and VMs. Her CASE PhD studentship was co-funded by Shell University Technology Centre (UTC) for Fuel and Lubricants, and the EPSRC.
Prior to this, Amran graduated from the University College London with a MSci degree in Chemistry. During her final year, she worked on using enhanced sampling methods, such as MetaDynamics, in the molecular dynamic simulations of protein and ligand binding.
