RESEARCH

My research interests focus on energy transition and decarbonisation of the oil and gas sector, with particular emphasis on sustainability, energy governance, carbon lock-in and just transition.

I am particularly interested in understanding how decarbonisation strategies can contribute to structural transformations in energy systems rather than reinforce dependence on fossil fuels. My research explores the technological, economic, environmental, social and institutional dimensions of energy transition, including the role of sustainability indicators and policy frameworks in supporting sustainable and socially just pathways.

My methodological interests include multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA), particularly the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Entropy weighting, TOPSIS and expert consultation methods. I also investigate the professional and socioeconomic implications of energy transition for workers in the oil and gas sector.

Additional research interests include energy planning and policy, petroleum refining and fuel supply, low-carbon hydrogen, renewable energy technologies and sustainable energy systems.
