DrAngela Kedgley

Dr. Angela Kedgley is a Reader in Orthopaedic Biomechanics the Department of Bioengineering. Her research interests broadly encompass the mechanics of human upper and lower limbs with the goal of providing more effective and efficient methods of diagnosis and treatment for patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions.

Dr Kedgley obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) in Canada. She then obtained a postdoctoral fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada to work at the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility at the University of British Columbia.

Following her move to the UK, she was awarded an Imperial College Research Fellowship and she subsequently joined the Department of Bioengineering as a Lecturer in Orthopaedic Biomechanics.

Angela is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and a Member of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She is a Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy). She also holds an Honorary Membership of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
