BIO
Anastasia is the Scientific Manager of the MRC Centre in Environment and Health and the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Chemical and Radiation Threats and Hazards. Anastasia leads the strategic and operational development of the MRC Centre and HPRU, working closely with more than 270 members of staff including Principal Investigators (PIs), Researchers, PhD students and operational staff.
Anastasia, as part of the Senior leadership team, works to determine and implement strategy and policy to meet the aims and objectives of the Centre and HPRU. She manages all Centre and HPRU activities across all four pillars, ensuring a joined-up approach of research, policy and translation, public engagement and training activities.
Anastasia has a strong track record in the Higher Education environment with areas of expertise ranging from strategic leadership, extensive financial management experience, research funding and policy and coordination of multi-stakeholder objectives .
