BIO

Dr Anjan Goswami is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Thermofluids Division at Imperial College London. His current research investigates contrail formation from Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and hydrogen combustion through controlled laboratory experiments, aiming to reduce aviation’s non-CO₂ climate impact and support the transition toward sustainable air transport.

He completed his PhD at Imperial as a Commonwealth Scholar, advancing the understanding of droplet–surface impact dynamics through novel experimental rig development, high-speed imaging, image processing, and analytical analysis. He also conducted numerical simulations on surface wetting during droplet deposition on smooth and micropatterned surfaces. His research has been featured in Nature Reviews Physics and published in leading journals including Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Scientific Reports, and Physics of Fluids. He obtained his MSc and BSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

Dr Goswami holds an academic position at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (Associate Professor, currently on leave) and has prior industrial experience as a CAD/CAM Engineer at Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. His research interests include thermofluids, droplet phenomena, and sustainable avaiation technologies. He serves as a peer reviewer of reputed journals, including Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Physics of Fluids.
