BIO

Andrea leads a research group in multi-physics reacting flows and engineered fluids, where the combination of electromagnetic interactions and nanomaterials is explored as a new paradigm for the control of chemical reactions and fluid structures towards sustainability in the energy, transportation and aerospace sectors. His research focuses on the development and use of numerical methods for the investigation of a wide range of scales, from molecular dynamics and quantum mechanics to continuum. Development of models to increase resilience to climate change by leveraging data-assimilation methods, for instance to evaluate wildfire risks, is also part of his research interests.Other positions:- Editor-in-chief, International Journal of Spray and Combustion Dynamics, SAGE publications inc- Committee Member of the British Section of the Combustion Institute (CIBS)- Member of the organizing committee of the International Workshop on Turbulent Combustion of Sprays (TCS)- Bye-Fellow, Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, UK
