BIO

Aimee is a Consultant Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeon at Imperial NHS Trust, the UK's largest department of its kind. Her clinical practice is predominantly at the Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals.

She is Lead of the Anatomy & Diagnostics domain within the School of Medicine, and is currently leading the curriculum review in Surgery & Cancer within phase 3. She is Co-lead for module 2 on the BSc in Surgical, Design Technology and Innovation.

She trained at the University of Cambridge and Guy's, King's and St. Thomas' School of Medicine, qualifying in 2004 with Distinction. Aimee undertook her house jobs in London before going on to be awarded one of the first 'run-through' training posts in general surgery followed by an Academic Clinical Fellow post at Imperial. Here she undertook her PhD in the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery.

Miss Di Marco undertook her higher clinical training in North West Thames, completing specialist training in Endocrine Surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital and as the T.S. Reeve Fellow in Endocrine Surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia. She was awarded the ASGBI gold medal for the highest scoring candidate in the intercollegiate examination of the Royal Colleges of Surgery (subspecialty endocrine) in 2017.

Aimee has an active clinical research portfolio with special interests in surgical technology and endocrine surgery and supervises BSc and MSc students.

She was an accomplished athlete with a Blue in rowing from the University of Cambridge and GB Age Group colours in Triathlon and Duathlon.
