I am broadly interested in using human stem cell–based models to explore how the brain and its immune system develop, and how this process can be disrupted. I am particularly drawn to understanding how factors such as genetics, pre-/postnatal immune activation, or early-life stress can alter microglial development and neurodevelopmental pathways, shaping later vulnerability to infecious diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health conditions.
