RESEARCH
Summary
My research is in the field of the mechanics of human joints. The main applications of my research are in the clinical fields of orthopaedics, sports, and trauma. My research pages are found here (https://www.imperial.ac.uk/musculoskeletal-mechanics).
My publications are in the areas of orthopaedic biomechanics, orthopaedic surgery, medical engineering, sports/rehabilitation biomechanics, and sports medicine. My co-authors consist of engineers, orthopaedic surgeons, mathematicians, physiotherapists, engineering students, medical students, radiographers, radiologists and medical physicists.
This research area has also led me to look at whole-body mechanics, focusing on the effect of activity, injury, surgery and rehabilitation on the loading of the musculoskeletal system. This has led me to collaborations with national sporting bodies, such as the Amateur Rowing Association, UK Sport, British International Rowing and the Marylebone Cricket Club.
