BIO
Alice Aveline is a research fellow in the Neonatal Medicine Research Group. Her research examines how care practices in neonatal intensive care units impact short- and long-term outcomes for premature babies. This research uses routinely collected data from UK hospital records to help answer clinically important questions. Her work applies statistical causal inference methods to help control bias and confounding.
Alice originally trained as an experimental psychologist and has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Nottingham. She has a postgraduate certificate in Applied Statistics from Birkbeck and a MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She qualified as an antenatal teacher and taught for the National Childbirth Trust for several years.
